#TrinityisSocial

Collaboration is the University’s approach to social media management as a large public sector organisation.

This involves fostering collaborative relationships with colleagues across all areas, academic and administrative,  and building relationships with current and prospective students, which enables us to engage with the University's wide range of diverse audiences.

We will discuss how and why this approach is implemented within Trinity College Dublin.

Seek, and you will find the Answers in Viva!

Do you already have a good Microsoft Teams culture, but are now looking for an enterprise-wide channel for knowledge management and engagement?

Viva Engage, formerly known as Yammer, has all the basic features you would expect of a modern social enterprise platform, including news feeds, profiles, and the ability to post images and videos. The application integrates these activities into Microsoft Teams and introduces many new features, including storylines and stories, commonplace on Facebook and Instagram. Viva Engage premium features require additional licenses and include multiple company-branded employee communities, town hall events, and leadership delegation features.

My session cuts through many new features. It focuses on “Answers in Viva,” and in my opinion, the most useful new part where you nurture employee engagement (in Viva Engage), harvest and curate knowledge (in Viva Topics), all integrated with Answers in Viva, and this can be a standalone product.

Beyond Copy Paste Innovation

Today it’s common for company leaders to express a desire to be more agile, and many embark on expensive change journeys, to make their teams more agile.

After years on this journey fraught with “resistance” and lots of change, and yet seldom able to show results that are meaningful to customers or the business

Part of the problem is the core assumption that the problems, and therefore solutions exist at the team level.

My experience is that to delight customers, collaboration is required between teams and departments. This focusing on the parts (individuals and teams) rarely improves the whole, in ways customers will appreciate or pay for.

We’ll explore this through three lenses.

Systems - How building effective interaction between teams produces more effective results

Science - How to Improve our understanding of what works and what doesn’t

Sapiens - How creating a healthy environment unlocked our potential.

Needs vs Consequences: Making negative impacts transparent in the design process

Our toolset as designers and product builders focusses on building a “great product” by fulfilling business and user needs. But, what are the negative impacts?

Who else besides the users and the business stakeholders is affected? And how can we set these negative impacts and other actors into relation to the user (and business) needs?

In this practical session you will get the chance to try some of the tools we developed at the Sustainable UX network that help you make the negative impacts of your digital product visible and to develop ideas on how to avoid or at least weaken them.

The University of Copenhagen recently started building the ‘next’ platform for their website. Ahead of this was a process for selecting a CMS, scoping the project, and discussions on future-proofing the platform.

Should we choose a all-in-one-solution from a vendor? An open source platform? Should we develop some of it inhouse? And what about the content?

Get an overview of the steps in the process, the criteria and discussions and surprises along the way.
